More than toast and eggs…Dubai breakfast buffet

Begin your day in Dubai with a traditional Arabic breakfast in the Trade Centre Area, Marina or Downtown areas of the city. Start with a refreshing pot of mint tea followed by an elaborate spread comprising spreads, cheeses and dips that go well with pita bread. Fresh fruit, olives and za’atar are other essentials along with yogurt and buttermilk.

Scale new heights…Burj Khalifa

At over 2,700 feet, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building. Make your way to the observation deck, At the top for panoramic views of the city, desert and ocean. Along with floor-to-ceiling glass walls that give you a 360-degree spectacle, there are also telescopes for visitors to use. Visiting the Burj Khalifa requires tickets, which can be purchased online or onsite.

Souq away…Souq bazaar in old Dubai

You’ll hear the word ‘souq’ often enough in Dubai to know that it refers to a marketplace. The city has many dedicated souqs with the most popular being Gold Souq and Spice Souq. Be prepared to be overwhelmed at the former because all that glitters is gold! Among the cheapest places in the world to buy gold, it promises a bedazzling experience. A two-minute walk away, the Spice Souq is an assault on the senses in a different way. As the aroma of spices hang in the air, you’ll be likely to come across exotic finds like lavender petals and saffron here.


Shop till you drop…Dubai mall shopping

When a city is famous for an annual shopping festival, you know you’re likely to find a ton of bargains from apparel to electronics and everything else! Take your pick of the larger-than-life shopping malls that include The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, BurJuman and Mercato Shopping Mall.

Lunch at leisure…Dubai traditional lunch

After you’ve overindulged in retail therapy, it’s time to satiate your taste buds and Dubai offers a multitude of options where you can. From fast food to fine dining, there isn’t a cuisine you can’t find here. If you’re in a mood to splurge, head to a Michelin star restaurant like Indego by Vineet for fusion Indian cuisine or La Petite Maison for contemporary French cuisine. For something more casual, all the malls have local and international food outlets where a variety of eateries are served.


Chill out in the desert…Desert camp in Dubai

Get your adrenaline pumping in the desert with a guided dune-bashing excursion. While seated in a 4×4 vehicle, navigate the sand and enjoy a thrilling ride with ups and downs, twists and turns. While there, enjoy a camel ride for a view of the expansive and artistic sand dunes. After your fill of fun, settle in to a makeshift dessert camp for a cultural evening complete with belly dancing, henna painting and a traditional dinner under starry skies!
