Gangaramaya (Vihara) Buddhist Temple

One of Colombo’s popular Buddhist landmarks, the architecture of the Gangaramaya Temple is influenced by Thai, Indian, Sri Lankan and Chinese elements. A place of worship and learning, this place warrants a visit if you are interested in Colombo’s Buddhist heritage.


Viharamahadevi Park

A visit to the Viharamahadevi Park is one of the things to do in Colombo. Colombo’s largest park is also the oldest public green space area in the city. Open 24 hours, this serene getaway includes water fountains, an open air stadium and a children’s play area.


The Royal Colombo Golf Club

Visiting Colombo should include a day at the greens, and at the Royal Colombo Golf Club you can enjoy a few swings or discover the rich heritage of this colonial masterpiece.

National Museum

The largest museum in Sri Lanka, the National Museum is a treasure trove of artefacts that chronicle the rich history of this island nation. Some of the exhibits here include the throne and crown of the Kandyan monarchs and the regalia of the country.
