Singapore has several places to visit for families. The city is known for its modern, affluent culture of skyscrapers, great food, and a diverse background that’s influenced by the Chinese, Malay, and Indian.
If you’re planning a vacation here with your kids in tow, here is a list of five places that are a must-visit:
Universal Studios Singapore
Universal Studios Singapore is an amazing, Hollywood-themed amusement park located at Resorts World Sentosa. The major attraction here is the Broadway-styled theatre, along with Sesame Street Show – When I Grow Up, Lake Hollywood Spectacular, Mel’s Dinettes, and The Cruisers. Kids and adults alike can also enjoy their favorite food at several themed restaurants, such as Hollywood China Bistro, Mel’s Drive-In, and, of course, Starbucks!
GoFro Tip: Visit a movie set and feel what it’s like to be in a huge hurricane, with special effects produced by Steven Spielberg!
Singapore Discovery Centre
An edutainment and tourist attraction, located in Jurong West, Singapore Discovery Centre is about the history and the predicted future of Singapore. Essentially, the Centre is an interactive museum that will teach your kids all about life in Singapore. It’s got various galleries that include mini-theatres, and exhibits on Singaporean everyday life, the Singapore Armed Forces, working as a reporter, crises simulations and management games, and so much more.
GoFro Tip: Take the kids to the Visionarium Design Studio where they can create their own version of the future!
Bumboat Ride on Singapore River
Take the kids on a trip to the Singapore River with a Bumboat ride to beat the heat. All you need to do here is hop on a traditional bumboat to cruise your way down the river and witness the new as well old Singapore passing by on all sides.
GoFro Tip: Bumboat rides are also available at night, which is a great way of seeing the city all lit up.
Located within the Science Centre in Singapore, Snow City is Singapore’s first indoor snow center. As much fun and entertainment that this place offers to your kids, it also teaches them about the concepts of snow and cold climates. Your kids will love snow tubing, skiing or snowboarding. If your children are too young for these activities, they’ve also got a play area with igloos and lots of sow to play with.
GoFro Tip: Experience a real-seeming snow blizzard here, complete with a massive storm with heavy snowfall and strong winds.
Singapore Night Safari
Sure to be a favorite with both adults and children, the Singapore Night Safari takes you on a tram ride through the jungle. The jungle is adjacent to the Singapore Zoo, and you get to see a multitude of animals in their natural habitats at night. You could also catch a glimpse of tribal warriors performing Thumbuakar, a display of fire stunts, during the tour.
GoFro Tip: Take the walking tour of the forest to see the animals up-close; don’t worry, it’s perfectly safe!
