This concrete gravity dam provides water to generate hydroelectricity. You can hire speed boats, speed launches, and motorboats for a spin around the dam. The reservoir is also a frequent haunt of elephant herds looking to quench their thirst.

This sanctuary for the endangered Nilgiri Tahr is also home to various other animals and birds. The park also offers fabulous views of the rolling hills with lush tea plantations enveloped in mist.
Timing:7.30 am to 4.00 pm (The park is closed from February to March)

 

Tagore Park, Thalassery


Experience Kochi like a local by going on a bus tour of the city. Cover historical sites, museums, the local markets, and the Chinese fishing nets. Go on a ferry Situated in the former French colony of Mahe, this park is great to spend a few hours of leisure. There is a memorial dedicated to freedom fighters and a statue installed to mark the centenary of the French Revolution in 1789.
Timing: All day though evenings can be pleasant with a gentle sea breeze blowing in
