National Art Gallery
If you are looking to explore the art in Colombo, you can start with the National Art Gallery, which is next to the National Museum. It has a few interesting portraits and landscape shots of regional relevance. The Gallery also houses temporary exhibitions of local artists.

Joseph Louis Gallery
At the Joseph Louis Gallery, you can view a large collection of contemporary art from Sri Lanka and even buy something that you may fancy. The establishment is a commercial venture that also makes elaborate frames and they have a collection of old photograph prints that chronicle the many facets of Sri Lankan life and history.

An institution that celebrates the evolution of art in Sri Lanka, this place is a must for art connoisseurs, and is a part of many cultural tours in Colombo. The exhibition of paintings here includes those by Richard Gabriel, George Keyt and the late Harry Pieris, in whose house the foundation is located.

Ministry of Crab
Situated in the Old Dutch Hospital building, Ministry of Crab is the destination for all foodies visiting Colombo. The local cuisine is an integral part of Colombo culture and at this restaurant, you can experience a lavish Sri Lankan meal which includes some delectable seafood with live music in the background.
