Best Places to Visit in India with Friends

We all have been crazily inspired by all those Bollywood movies that gave us some serious goals of going on a trip with our friends. Be it Manali or Goa, we immediately make the plans as soon as we got out of the theatre. Here is a list of destinations in India that you can visit with your friends:

1)    Goa

Goa Beach Goa is by far the most clichéd destination when it comes to trips with friends, and rightly so. The amazing beaches, the quirky night life and not to forget those scrumptious sea food delights, all of which make Goa the top most preferred destination for all group of friends.

What to do:

  • Party in Cabana and Curly’s
  • Laze around at Ashvem beach
  • Enjoy the view from Thalassa while indulging in Greek food
  • Adventure junkies can enjoy water sports such as jet skiing parasailing and motor-boating in Calangute.
  • To commute within Goa, you can hire a Jeep or a scooter.

How to get there: A 10-hour journey by road from Mumbai and direct flights from Delhi and other metro cities.

 

2)    Kerala

kerala backwaters If you’ve had enough of those parties and just want to have a peaceful weekend with your buddies, then Kerala is the right place for you. A paradise in itself, the place offers various beaches, wildlife, scenery and is a must-visit for all tea lovers.

What to do:

  • Visit Eravikulam National Park in Munnar
  • Mountain biking in Munnar
  • Go cruising in Periyar (Thekkady)
  • Enjoy the backwaters of Alleppey’s
  • Shop at the Spice Market in Cochin or Munnar

How to get there; There are direct flights to & from Cochin to all major metropolitan cities across India. Once there, you can book a cab for your desired location and enjoy the scenery en-route.

 

3)    Jaipur

Amber fortJust a few kilometers away from the national capital, Delhi, Jaipur is your ideal go-to place if you and your group of friends are a fan of heritage and cultural sites. The city has a lot to offer, from havelis to shopping to food and lastly, a memorable experience.

What to do:

  • Climb up the Amber Fort and enjoy the sunset
  • Experience the wonders of Hawa Mahal
  • Shop at Bapu Bazaar
  • Stay at a heritage hotel
  • Get an overdose of Rajasthani food and hospitality at Chokhi Dhani!

How to get there: Located only 262 kilometers from Delhi, Jaipur can be an ideal road trip for you and your friends. Various flights also operate to & from Jaipur to multiple locations in India.

 

4)    Manali

Sunrise in ManaliThe hills are surely an adventurous way to spend time with your friends. Manali is definitely amongst the most visited hill stations in India, but with your friends this particular Himalayan beauty seems all the more fun. The majestic mountains, quaint cafes and adventure sport activities all account to some of the best experiences you will have in your life.

What to do:

  • Visit old Manali, and its quaint cafes
  • Go trekking with your friends
  • Visit Kasaul to enjoy a picturesque sunset or sunrise
  • Go to Rohtang pass (you need a permit)
  • Visit the street markets to buy souvenirs.

How to get there: If you wish to travel by air, the nearest airport is in Shimla and you’ll have to drive another 4-5 hours to get to Manali from there. Apart from this, various buses go to Manali from Delhi on a daily basis.

 

5)    Rishikesh

RishikeshIf recreation is the sole purpose of your mini vacation, then the land of yogis is surely the place to be. You can relax at this particular place by doing Yoga in one of the many ashrams or just chilling around the banks of river Ganga. This particular town is sure to leave you and your friends with fond memories.

What to do:

  • River rafting on the Ganges,
  • Hipster shopping in the markets,
  • Waterfall treks
  • Camping & barbeque under the clear night sky.

You also have the option of hiring bikes, on an hourly or daily basis in Rishikesh.

How to get there: Rishikesh is just a 4-5-hour drive from Delhi and many buses and cabs travel to and from Rishikesh on a daily basis.
