Sure, addictions are bad but there are some that you don’t need to hide and can be proud of. We’re talking about the T word – travel! If you’ve got a perpetual case of ants in your pants and seem to always either be planning a trip or just back from one, the chances are that you may have a ‘problem’. Here are 10 signs that you’re a travel addict.
You’re always on the lookout for travel deals
If you spend most of your time trying to score a killer travel deal then you’re definitely a travel addict. Be it hotels, flights or excursions, you’re that person that’s got every possible travel deal site bookmarked!
You spend all your money on travel
Are you always complaining about being broke? Well, have you ever wondered why that could be? Hmmm…give it a thought. Could it possibly be because you spend ALL your money on travel. Travel addict behavior – oh yes!
You have severe FOMO if you can’t travel
FOMO or fear of missing out. If that’s what you feel when you can’t travel then that more than qualifies you as a travel addict. Are you always wondering if there’s somewhere else you’d rather be than where you are and your anxiety levels soar as a result, you definitely have a problem.
You have friends in every country
You make friends whenever you travel and wherever you go and your endless list of Facebook friends, Instagram followers and Snapchat friends makes everyone around you envious. You know people from Australia to Zimbabwe and every place in between.
Airports are your favorite hangout spot
You love airports enough to just hangout in them! The mere mention of a city or country and you are that person who can rattle off the airport code, tell us the best snack bar in which terminal and recall every little detail possible from the color of the carpet to the cleanest restroom. While you pride yourself in the depth of your knowledge, sadly, it’s just another sign that you’re a travel addict
Your passport has multiple booklets
Do you even remember what your original passport looks like? If your passport has evolved from a simple booklet to a voluminous encyclopedia, it’s more than likely that you have a travel addiction. The brighter side is that you have immigration stamps to show off to people in case they ever doubt you.
Before you get home, you’re already planning your next trip
You are not even back home from your travels that you are already planning your next big adventure. You are already researching before even returning…you know what the makes you, right?
All your to-do lists revolve around travel
Visit Mongolia. Visit Cuba. Visit Hungary. Visit South Korea. It’s more than likely that like any self-respecting travel addict, this is what your daily to-do list looks like. Forget buying groceries, paying bills or any of the ‘normal’ stuff, travel is on top of your mind, day and night.
You never get homesick
You could be away from home 364 days a year and never get homesick. You don’t miss your people and you don’t yearn for home cooked food. Basically, you’re a nomad who doesn’t have an anchor and you’re perfectly fine with that!
Everyone comes to you for travel advice
Forget friends and family, your own neighbor’s uncle’s sister’s brother comes to you for travel advice. That’s the reputation you have. It’s obviously something to be very proud of too. Your travels have made you so famous that you’re known to be a travel celebrity addict of sorts. Woo hoo for you!
